On the Philadelphia Flyers …

Dave Isaac: Though things can change, as of late last night, Brayden Schenn‘s camp didn’t think they would get a deal before their arbitration hearing today.

Tim Panaccio of CSN Philly: The Flyers and Brayden Schenn are over a $1 million apart and no progress was made over the weekend. The sides are schedule for arbitration this morning.

“We will probably go to arbitration,” Don Meehan, the agent for Schenn, said Sunday.

“I’m not overly optimistic,” he said about avoiding arbitration.

On the Toronto Maple Leafs …

TSN: Johan Svensson of Expressen is reporting that the Toronto Maple Leafs are close to signing the 28-year old Jhonas Enroth to back up Frederik Andersen. Enroth appeared in 16 games for the Kings last season, going 7-5-1 with a 2.17 GAA and .922 save percentage.

Elliott Teaford: Enroth was very unhappy with his limited role last season with LA and made it be known at the end of the year.

FA Goalie market

Elliotte Friedman: The Maple Leafs are offering Frank Corrado a two-way $625,000 NHL/$150,000 AHL in arbitration, $575,000 on a one-way deal. Corrado is asking for $900,000 on a one-way deal.

On Russian Hockey …

Aivis Kalnins: The IIHF are investigating doping scandal with potentially 14 Russian hockey players involved. All 14 players are likely to be suspended. Early reports on the situation show that at least one of the 14 players represented Russia at the Sochi Olympics.

On Kris Versteeg

General Fanager: Kris Versteeg has signed a one year contract with SC Bern in the Swiss League.

On Ben Scrivens

Genereal Fanager: Ben Scrivens signed with Dinamo Minsk in the KHL.

On the Dallas Stars …

Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News: The Stars decided not to re-sign free agents Alex Goligoski, Jason Demers and Kris Russell. They brought in Dan Hamhuis, and plan on going with a younger, bigger blueline featuring Esa Lindell (22), Stephen Johns (24), Patrik Nemeth (24) and Jamie Oleksiak (23).

The Stars will go with eight defenseman again next season. Hamhuis could be the top candidate to may play with John Klingberg.
