Rumors: Bruins, Wild, Blues and Ducks
Loui Eriksson

On the Boston Bruins and Minnestoa Wild …

  • Fluto Shinzawa of the Boston Globe: Every team would love to have a player like Loui Eriksson, and their is no guarantee that the Bruins will be able keep him. The Bruins do think they can re-sign him though.Milan Lucic’s retained salary will be off the books. They will have an overage penalty of approximately $969,000.Eriksson can justify asking for $6 million on an extension. Term will be the big question. They will look to trade him instead of losing him for nothing. They could look to bring back a roster player instead of future assets. For that, they may look for a team that would be interest in Eriksson as more than just a rental. The Wild have Jonas Brodin and Matt Dumba, but a GM who knows the Wild’s interest, knows they only see Eriksson as a rental. If the Bruins were to include one of their first round picks, it still may not be enough for the Wild to send back one of their defenseman.

On the St. Louis Blues …

  • Kevin Allen of USA Today: Blue GM Doug Armstrong is looking to add some scoring to increase their offense which sites 18th in the league (heading into Friday).  Armstrong will likely add to their top-six. They can move someone from their blueline.

On the Anaheim Ducks ….

  • Chris Nichols of Today’s Slapshot: Elliotte Friedman on Sportsnet 960 on the Anaheim Ducks.

“They are loaded on defense. They have to sign both Hampus Lindholm and Sami Vatanen. I wonder, when all these guys get healthy – and they should all be back around the end of the All-Star break – something is going to give there. They’re going to get calls. They’re going to take those calls. They’re going to be looking for young forwards. I think we are still going to see Anaheim make a trade this year that is going to address the issues they feel they have scoring-wise.”
