  • Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun: Senators coach Dave Cameron is closing in on a two-year contract extension. Andre Tourigny resigned from the Avalanche last month, and could be the frontrunner for an assistant coaching position according to sources. The Senators are also closing in on a new deal for Binghamton Senators coach Luke Richardson.

The Senators continue talks with free agents Alex Chiasson, Mike Hoffman, Mark Stone, Mika Zibanejad and Jean-Gabriel Pageau.

The Senators haven’t decided on UFA Erik Condra yet. It’s doubtful that he’ll be back though.

They are still deciding on what to do with Colin Greening and David Legward. Greening has two-years left at $2.65 million per season. They’ve held talks with some teams, and they may have to retain some salary. Legwand has a year left at $3 million and could help someone. Someone could be interested in adding a veteran or using his cap hit to get to the salary floor.
