  • Helene St. James: Daniel Alfredsson is seeing a back specialists and definitely won’t be at the start the Red Wings training camp.
  • Michael Russo of the Star Tribune: Wild goalie Josh Harding will miss the start of training camp due to an ankle injury that has him walking around with crutches. Source saying it was an off ice injury. If Harding is out long-term, and they don’t get Darcy Kuemper signed, Ilya Bryzgalov could be an option. It it believed that the Wild have already asked Bryzgalov is he’d want to come to training camp on a PTO.
  • Tom Gulitti: Devils GM Lou Lamoriello said that Ryane Clowe was having tests done yesterday and that he saw a neurologist in Boston. Things went well. Rich Chere: Lamoriello expects Clowe to be cleared to start camp on Friday.
  • Andy Strickland: The Blues could have as many as seven forwards competing for three spots. Four defensemen could be competing for the sixth and seventh roster spot. Peter Mueller and Chris Butler have two-way deals and have a good shot at making the team out of camp.
  • Edmonton Oilers: The Oilers invited Kevin Westgarth to camp on a PTO. Chip Alexander: Westgarth had been skating with the Hurricanes the past few weeks.
  • Eric Stephens: The Ducks signed Devante Smith-Pelly to a two-year, one-way, $1.6 million contract.
  • Helene St. James: The Red Wings signed Danny DeKeyser to a two-year deal with a cap hit of $2.187 million. Aaron Ward: DeKeyser will get $2.125 million in the first year with a $500,000 bonus, and $2.25 million in the second year.
