Pat Burns passes away after a long battle with cancer

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Pat Burns.

TSN: Pat Burns passed at the age of 58 in Sherbrooke, Quebec today. Burns had been battling colon and liver cancer in 2004 and 2005. I was thought that he beat it, but in 2009 it had spread to his lungs.

Burns is the only head coach to win the Jack Adams award for coach of the year with 3 different teams; Montreal (’89), Toronto (’93) and Boston (’98).

Bob McKenzie wrote a piece back in September that is a must read if you haven’t already.
