It took just 15 seconds for Joe Pavelski to end San Jose’s scoring drought, and the Sharks continued to roll from there, pummeling the Edmonton Oilers 7-0 on Tuesday night to tie their first-round playoff series at two games apiece. Pavelski and Logan Couture each scored twice as the Sharks rebounded from back-to-back shutouts.

The loss was the worst of the season for Edmonton and couldn’t have come at a more inopportune time. Game 5 is at Rogers Place on Thursday, but instead of trying to close out the best-of-seven series, the Oilers will now be trying to stop the Sharks’ momentum. A 15-minute game misconduct to Leon Draisaitl included, the Oilers were assessed 27 minutes in penalties. The Sharks had eight.
