NHL Trade: Predators Acquire Cody McLeod From Avalanche
The Colorado Avalanche have traded Cody McLeod to the Nashville Predators

The Colorado Avalanche have traded winger Cody McLeod to the Nashville Predators for center Felix Girard.

Pierre LeBrun: The Avalanche will retain 40 percent of McLeod’s salary and cap hit.

The 32-year old McLeod has spent the past 10 seasons with the Avalanche. In 658 NHL games he’s scored 66 goals, added 51 assists and racked up 1,357 penalty minutes.

According to Cap Friendly, he carries a $1.333 million cap hit for this season and next.

The 22-year old Girard was drafted 95th overall in the 4th round of the 2013 draft by the Predators. He has yet to play an NHL game.

Girard will be assigned to San Antoinio of the AHL according to NHL.com.
