The Edmonton Oilers have traded goalie Devan Dubnyk to the Nashville Predators for forward Matt Hendricks. The Oilers will pick up half of Dubnyk’s salary according to Willy Daunic (Predators radio play-by-play guy).
The 27-year old Dubnyk was drafted 14th overall in 2004 by the Oilers. He carries a $3.5 million cap hit. Dubnyk will be a free agent at the end of the season.
The 32-year old Hendricks was drafted 131st overall in the fifth round of the 2000 draft by the Predators. He carries a $1.825 million salary cap hit. Hendricks is under contract until after the 2016-17 season.
