NHL Rumors XI: Vrbata, Spezza, Carter, Jets, Michalek, Robidas, Niskanen and Glass
  • Pierre LeBrun: Seven to eight teams are interested in Radim Vrbata. Coyotes are still in the mix and should speak again at some point today.
  • Tom Gulitti: Ryan Carter’s agent plans on speaking with Devils GM Lou Lamoriello later today. Hopes to remain in New Jersey.
  • Ken Wiebe: Expects the Jets to look for a top-four defenseman through free agency or trade. They could also feel they can fill their second pair with someone from within.
  • Bruce Garrioch: 12 teams have shown interest in Milan Michalek. He’ll give the Senators a chance to re-sign him.
  • Craig Custance: Defenseman Stephane Robidas is getting interest. He could end up in the East.
  • Josh Yohe: Matt Niskanen may stay around with the Penguins for around $5 million if they go seven years. Less years would mean money.
  • Brian Lawton: An agent this morning: “It is not a matter of who you want to sign but a matter of who you can get”
  • News 1130 Sports: Six teams have called on Tanner Glass. Four to five teams called about Willie Mitchell.
  • Kevin Kurz: Don’t be surprised if Scott Hannan returns to the Sharks on a cheap one-year deal to be their seventh or eighth defenseman.
  • News 1130 Sports: The Canucks made a “significant push” for Ryan Miller. The Sharks and Ducks should be in the mix.
  • Arthur Staple:  Islanders are not inquiring about Michael Del Zotto.
