Talk that the Pittsburgh Penguins and Vegas Golden Knights have a trade in place for Marc-Andre Fleury
On the Vegas Golden Knights and Pittsburgh Penguins …

Andy Strickland: (from last week) Trade talk won’t stop that the Golden Knights and Penguins have a trade in the drawer to send Marc-Andre Fleury to Vegas after the playoffs.

On the Edmonton Oilers …

Bob Stauffer: From GM Peter Chiarelli’s comments on Tuesday, it’s unlikely at this point that the Oilers would trade for defenseman that they’d need to protect for the expansion draft.

On the Chicago Blackhawks …

Scott Powers: Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman on WGN radio said he analyzing how to improve their roster for next season and “part of it is going to be some new faces to the mix.”

Scott Powers: Bowman added that they are partially focused on bringing in new players. They are scouting players at the World Championships and will be at the Memorial Cup.

On the Dallas Stars …

Andy Strickland: Good bet that former St. Louis Blues assistant coach Rick Wilson joins Ken Hitchcock in Dallas. There is also a good chance that Curt Fraser remains with the Stars.

On the Arizona Coyotes and New York Rangers …

Dan Rosen of NHL.com: (mailbag) The Arizona Coyotes aren’t looking to trade Oliver Ekman-Larsson, but if someone was willing to offer a ton for him, the Coyotes would at least have to listen. The Toronto Maple Leafs would be a terrific fit, but at what cost?

[Rosen] thinks there is a shake up coming with the New York Rangers. They need a puck-moving right handed defenseman to play with Ryan McDonagh, and maybe a second one. Carolina Hurricanes Justin Faulk could be one option and would be perfect beside McDonagh. The Rangers would have to include one of Kevin Hayes, J.T. Miller or Chris Kreider. [Rosen] thinks the Rangers could buy out Dan Girard – three years left with a $5.5 million cap hit.

Top three candidates that the Golden Knights could select from the Rangers in the expansion draft are Jesper Fast, Oscar Lindberg and Antti Raanta
