Rick Dhaliwal: The Canucks have spoken with Michael Chaput‘s camp and let them know after the draft if they are going to qualify him or not.

Rick Dhaliwal: The Canucks told Alexandre Grenier agent that they might be contact on July 1st, but it’s looking like his time with Canucks is coming to an end.

Rick Dhaliwal: Contract talks with Darren Archibald haven’t started but they want him back.

Rick Dhaliwal: The agent for Ryan Miller is expected to meet with Canucks GM Jim Benning at the draft this week.

Rick Dhaliwal: There has been no offer made to Miller so far but that could obviously change this week.

Matthew Sekeres: Unless something changed, the Canucks weren’t planning on making a side deal with Vegas.

On the Vegas Golden Knights …

Pierre LeBrun: The plan is for Vegas to file their side deals with Central Registry after the draft window closes on Wednesday at 10 AM ET.

Scott Cullen: (late morning) Have heard that Vegas has at least seven side deals in place.

Chris Johnston: Vegas GM George McPhee expects that three or four of the players he will select in the expansion draft will be at the arena for the announcement.

Steve Carp: GM McPhee plans to have their list finalized by tonight. They set a  deadline to make side deals with them by 9:00 PM last night.

SinBin.vegas: GM McPhee: “We’ve had a lot of healthy discussions with UFAs. Not sure which way that will go.”

Rick Dhaliwal: Have heard that Vegas has spoken with Karl Alzner and Jordan Weal.

Aivis Kalnins: Sounding like Vegas and Evgeni Dadonov have restarted contract talks. It’s likely that he ends up signing with them.

NHL.com: GM McPhee said yesterday afternoon that they were still in talks with teams and that they plan to decide on their picks .

“The last 24 hours have been similar to the last 3 or 4 days in that we are having discussions with clubs about what they want to do and how they can protect their rosters if they want to do that,” McPhee said. “And what we’ve told everyone today is that today will be the last day that we are going to have those discussions. That we are going to pick our team .”
