NHL Injuries: Flames, Habs, Ducks, Pens, Leafs and More
Tyler Bozak and Dennis Wideman

On the Calgary Flames …

  • Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun: Defenseman Dennis Wideman left last night’s game with an upper-body injury. Wideman collided with teammate Joe Colbourne. Head coach Bob Hartley after the game: “the preliminary reports that we got from the medical staff are not very good.” Wideman will undergo more testing today.

On the Montreal Canadiens …

  • Joe Yerdon: Defenseman Mark Barberio left last night’s game with an injury.

On the Florida Panthers …

  • Harvey Fialkov: Eric Gudbranson and Jussi Jokinen had scans and their injuries are not believed to be serious. Gudbranson will be out tonight.

On the Anaheim Ducks …

  • Anaheim Ducks: Out last night were Kevin Bieksa (lower-body), Sami Vatanen (lower-body) and Nate Thompson (upper-body).

On the Pittsburgh Penguins …

  • Jenn Menendez: Coach Mike Sullivan said that Scott Wilson will be out longer than they originally thought.

On the Dallas Stars …

  • Josh Bogorad: John Klingberg and Patrick Sharp could return tonight. Jordie Benn and Mattias Janmark are still out.

On the Toronto Maple Leafs …

  • Chris Johnston of Sportsnet: Tyler Bozak has been out since February 6th with a concussion. He’s been dealing with headaches when he picks up his intensity level during exercises. He passed baseline concussion test on Tuesday after failing the previous two tests.

“It’s just weird,” Bozak said. “You’re not really hurt. Like when you’ve hurt your arm or your leg or something you know what you can and can’t do. But when you have (a concussion) it’s kind of hard. When I started riding the bike I’d get headaches right after.

“And then some mornings I’d wake up with a headache and some mornings I wouldn’t. I guess every day is a new thing.”

Bozak isn’t sure when he’ll be allowed to return to the lineup. He’s taking part in daily rehab sessions and has been skating by himself.

  • Paul Hendrick: Bozak said he’s still trying to get back into shape. Would think the earliest Bozak is able to return is later next week. Leo Komarov was given a maintenance day yesterday and should be able to play tonight.
