Adam Kimelman: If GM Ron Hextall does make a trade, it would be for a low-cost depth player. Hextall has said he’s not that interest in trading prospect or draft picks.
Dave Isaac of the Courier-Post: The Philadelphia Flyers have lost nine of their last 11 games.
“I’m not gonna make a trade to send a message,” general manager Ron Hextall said. “I’m (only) going to make a trade to make us better.”
In the past three years, GM Ron Hextall has only made three in-season trades that have involved NHL players.
Hextall on if their inconsistency makes him sometimes want to send a message by making a trade.
“Those types of thoughts I keep to myself, but if we can make our team better we will,” Hextall said. “But we’re staying on course. I don’t care if we win every game for the rest of the year or lose every game. We’re staying on course. We set out a course two and a half years ago and we’re not deviating from what we planned.”
