Bob McKenzie: The Red Wings are not in a hurry to dump Pavel Datsyuk‘s salary cap hit. The Wings know the asset they would have to move, but they don’t want to pay that price until they are sure they need the extra cap space.

Craig Custance: There have been several teams that have been in contact with the Red Wings about Pavel Datsyuk’s contract. The Wings could expect more teams interested if they were willing to take back some salary.

Craig Custance: Not sure if the Red Wings really want to take back any salary. Get the sense that the Wings are interested if trade the contract if they are going big in the free agent market.

On Cam Fowler, Anaheim Ducks, Montreal Canadiens and Buffalo Sabres …

Pierre LeBrun: There are several teams interested in Ducks defenseman Cam Fowler.

Criag Custance: The Ducks could use a left-handed forward who can help out their power play.

Bob McKenzie: Trade talks heating up to the point that he could be traded before the draft.

Craig Custance: Fowler is a name to watch in the next couple of days as there is lots of talk.

Platinum Seat Ghosts:  Bob McKenzie:  “Montreal is extremely interested and maybe at the front of the line for Cam Fowler.”

Darren Dreger: The Canadiens are one of the more interested teams in Fowler, which obviously fuels more P.K. Subban trade speculation.

Darren Dreger: On Fowler, if might come down to if the Sabres would give up their No. 8 pick or if the Canadiens would give up their No. 9 pick.

Mike Harrington: The Ducks and Sabres are heavily into trade talks about Fowler. GM Tim Murray want say much. A source said that they have another talk scheduled for the morning.

Eric Stephens: The Sabres have been interested in Fowler for awhile.

Hockey Buzz: Fowler is getting some interest. Teams that could be interested include the Sabres, Bruins, Blue Jackets and Rangers.

Jason Gregor: Fowler to the Sabres makes sense. The could possibly get the No. 8 pick, with both sides adding more to the package. The Sabres are looking to make some moves.
