NHL Rumors: Ducks, Flames, Blues, Bruins and Sabres
The Anaheim Ducks and Calgary Flames have interviewed Randy Carlyle
On the Anaheim Ducks …

Darren Dreger: The Ducks were expected to meet with Randy Carlyle yesterday about their vacant head coaching position. Travis Green is also being considered.

Frank Seravalli: After another trip to the Memorial Cup with London, there is a belief that Knights head coach Dale Hunter could be on the Ducks radar. Not known if he’s interested in returning to the NHL.

On the Anaheim Ducks and Calgary Flames …

TSN video: Darren Dreger on the two head coaching vacancies. Anaheim Ducks: The Ducks will meet with Randy Carlyle. Travis Green (Utica – AHL) has already had one interview, and he’s expected to get another.

Calgary Flames: Travis Green is also under consideration by the Flames, he’s had one interview and expected to get another. Canucks assistant coach Glen Gulutzan is also being considered.

On the St. Louis Blues …

Darren Dreger: Part of the Blues rationale when they hired Kirk Muller was to potentially take over for Ken Hitchcock.

Craig Custance: Blues GM Doug Armstrong said yesterday that their first priority is sign RFA Jaden Schwartz: “It puts another piece to the puzzle in place for our salary cap.”

On the Boston Bruins …

Joe Haggerty of CSNNE: Reports from Russia are that Bruins Alexander Khokhlachev will be signing with SKA St. Petersburg of the KHL. The 22-year old has spent most of the past three season with Providence of the AHL, appearing in only 9 games with Boston.

It’s believed that Khokhlachev camp would rather see him traded, but he’s forced to use the Russia card as the Bruins still hold his rights. His family has settled in Toronto the past few years. Khokhlachev feels he’s never been given a chance with Boston.

On the Buffalo Sabres …

Aivis Kalnins: KHL’s Dinamo Riga acquired the rights to Zemgus Girgensons from CSKA. It basically means nothing. Hearing that Dinamo also received some money in the deal. Girgensons has already made it clear that the KHL is the last place he’d go. He has said that there are better options in Europe.

Aivis Kalnins: Have been hearing that multiple NHL teams are interested in Girgensons. Girgensons is a RFA and it’s doubtful he’d sign an offer sheet that the Sabres couldn’t match.
