NHL Rumors: Philadelphia Flyers, Anaheim Ducks, and Toronto Maple Leafs
Could the Anaheim Ducks and Toronto Maple Leafs work out another deal?

On the Philadelphia Flyers …

Dave Isaac of the Courier Post: With Brian Elliott out for five to six weeks, the Flyers will be checking out the goalie market. They will also keep their eye out for other options.

“I can’t say we’ll go with the 23 guys on our roster right now,” general manager Ron Hextall said. “You don’t know what’s going to come up. I’ll repeat what I always say: if we can make our team better at any position we’ll look at it.”

On the Anaheim Ducks …

Eric Stephens of the OC Register: The Ducks acquired Adam Henrique from the Devils for Sami Vatanen earlier this season. Henrique has a done a solid job for the Ducks, but the loss of Vatanen has left a hole.

The Ducks could use another top-four defenseman, as well as a left winger.

On the Anaheim Ducks and Toronto Maple Leafs …

TSN: Bob McKenzie was on TSN 1050 and wondered if the Anaheim Ducks and Toronto Maple Leafs could be potential trade partners again.

“I don’t know if the Ducks are going to sell or not, but Antoine Vermette is a guy they’ll get some action on. Anaheim’s kind of in a weird spot… they usually are buyers at the deadline – and they could be a buyer at the deadline this year. They’re one of the teams that gets associated with Evander Kane in Buffalo as maybe picking up a rental scoring winger. But, they may also be in a position where they look at themselves and say maybe this a transitional time when we need to get a little younger and start stocking the cupboard with more picks or prospects, so maybe we’ll trade Antoine Vermette.”

McKenzie adds that he not saying the Maple Leafs are interested in Vermette or if he’s even available.
