NHL Rumors: Canadiens, Predators, Sabres and Red Wings
Andreas Athanasiou of the Detroit Red Wings and Ben Scrivens of the Montreal Canadiens
On the Montreal Canadiens …

Chris Johnston: P.K. Subban on trade rumors: “I’m never concerned.”

HabsLinks: Pierre LeBrun on TSN 690 on the Montreal Canadiens: “It would not surprise me if something tangible happens this week, if not the next 14 days.”

HabsLinks: LeBrun added that he’s been hearing from other teams that Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin is quite active.

Brian Wilde: Would be surprised if GM Bergevin doesn’t do something big in the next couple of weeks.

On the Nashville Predators …

Adam Vingan: The door isn’t completely closed for the goalie Carter Hutton returning to the Predators next season, though it looks like he’ll be heading to free agency.

Adam Vingan: Predators GM David Poile said they are still working on possibly trading Eric Nystrom. If it happens could be closer to the draft.

On the Buffalo Sabres …

Joe Yerdon: Sabres Tim Murray on trading up to No. 3: “I called Jarmo and asked if he wanted to trade 3 and he said, ‘I don’t want to trade 3.‘”

John Vogl of the Buffalo News: The Sabres hold the No. 8 pick, but GM Tim Murray has let his scouts know they may not have the pick and others.

“If we can trade a couple picks and improve our team, we’ll continue to do that,” Murray said Tuesday during a predraft news conference. “If somebody offers us a top-end, young, left-shot” defenseman “and they demand our eighth overall pick and we feel it makes us better, we’ll do the trade.”

If they don’t trade the pick, they have three players in mind, two of which are defensemen.

On the Detroit Red Wings …

Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press: Red Wings GM Ken Holland has spoken with a few teams regarding Pavel Datsyuk‘s cap hit. The assets that teams are asking for to be include are 2015 first round pick Evgeny Svechnikov or Andreas Athanasiou.

Holland has previously stated that he doesn’t want to trade future significant future assets to move the contract.

The Wings would have to retain some of Jimmy Howard‘s salary if they were to trade him.
