Ansar Khan: Red Wings GM Ken Holland said that their roster is pretty much set for next year. They will still be a little under the cap after they re-sign their remaining RFAs.

Nick Cotsonika: Holland said the Wings are “pretty close to being done,” but they still have a logjam at forward and needs on the blueline.

Ansar Khan: If the Red Wings are improve their blueline, it will be through trade. It didn’t sound like Holland has anything on the front burner.

Mike Harrington: An unnamed goaltender reneged on a deal with the Sabres and GM Tim Murray isn’t happy. Murray said it wasn’t Chad Johnson.

Michael Russo: The Wild are definitely interested in bringing Matt Cullen back. A team source did say that it’s “Hard to tell right now” as they are counting money.

Chad Graff: GM Fletcher yesterday: “Today was an opportunity to overpay pretty good players. And I’d like to think we avoided that.”

Lou Korac: David Backes said he spoke with the Wild and thought about going home, but realized they didn’t have much cap space and filled their need for a center with Eric Staal.

Bruce Garrioch: The deadline for Mike Hoffman to file for salary arbitration is on Tuesday, but the Senators having the option on Wednesday. The Senators would like to deal a done before arbitration.
