NHL Rumors: Scouting NJ-MON, Islanders, Avs, Penguins and Blues
Marc-Andre Fleury and Matt Duchene
Scouting the New Jersey Devils and Montreal Canadiens …

Mike Morreale: Scouts listed to attend last night’s Devils – Canadiens game: Philadelphia Flyers, San Jose Sharks, Calgary Flames and Boston Bruins.

On the New York Islanders, Colorado Avalanche and Edmonton Oilers …

Jimmy Murphy: A NHL source said that it would take something like Ryan Pulock or Travis Hamonic, Brock Nelson and Michael Dal Colle for Matt Duchene.

Andy Graziano: Matt Duchene may be the Islanders Plan A, and Jordan Eberle seems to be their Plan B.

Darren Dreger: Will be interesting to see what the Islanders can do. The Oilers say that Eberle isn’t going anywhere. Duchene would be a good fit for the Islanders. The Avalanche need to get a young defenseman back if they move Duchene. Hamonic might be the right fit for the Avalanche. Duchene is eager to move on. A three-way trade?

On the Pittsburgh Penguins …

Dave Molinari: Marc-Andre Fleury wouldn’t say if he’s asked to be traded or not. He said that he wants to keep those talks between himself and GM Jim Rutherford.

Sam Kasan of Pens Inside Scoop NHL.com: GM Jim Rutherford has said that he’d prefer to keep Marc-Andre Fleury through the end of the season, but it would to be what Fleury wants as well.

“We’ve been talking and we’ll keep talking through Wednesday,” said Fleury, who has a limited-trade clause built into his contract. “We’ll see what happens.”

Fleury on Ben Bishop being traded and the rumors.

“Maybe not the team I was expecting to pick (Bishop) up,” Fleury said. “It’s tough to follow what’s going on and what’s happening. There are a lot of talks and a lot doesn’t happen or (the rumors) are wrong.”

On the Pittsburgh Penguins and St. Louis Blues …

Craig Custance: Sounding like the Penguins and Blues never got close on a Kevin Shattenkirk trade. The high asking price kept the Penguins out of the running.
