NHL Rumors: Penguins, Senators, Panthers, Flyers and Blackhawks
Marc-Andre Fleury agreed to waive his no-movement clause back in February
On the Pittsburgh Penguins …

Renaud Lavoie: The Penguins asked Marc-Andre Fleury to waive his no-movement clause for the expansion draft back in February and he agreed too. Only waived it for Vegas.

Renaud Lavoie: Any player who has a no-movement clause can be asked for the expansion draft.

On the Ottawa Senators …

TSN: The Ottawa Senators have asked defenseman Dion Phaneuf to waive his no-movement clause for the expansion draft according to Pierre LeBrun.

The Senators hope he will waive it so they can protect one of Marc Methot, Mark Borowiecki, Chris Wideman or Frederik Claesson to go along with Erik Karlsson and Cody Ceci.

Phaneuf has four years left on his deal at $7 million a season.

On the Florida Panthers …

George Richards: The Panthers have said they haven’t asked defenseman Keith Yandle to waive his no-movement for the expansion draft and don’t plan on doing so.

On the Philadelphia Flyers …

Sam Carchidi: The Philadelphia Flyers and UFA forward Jordan Weal have agreed upon the length on a new deal, now they just work on the salary. They are progressing in the right direction.

On the Chicago Blackhawks …

Maple Leafs Hot Stove: Darren Dreger on TSN 1050 talking about the Blackhawks and if they could trade one of their core defensemen.

“As strange as it sounds, I feel like Hjalmarsson is the more likely of the two and there are some that believe that maybe that process is already underway in that he has submitted his list of teams he would be willing to waive to. I’m just speculating on that because we’ve been immersed in the Stanley Cup Finals and I haven’t had an opportunity to connect with anyone from the Chicago Blackhawks to verify that. That is some of the rumbling.

Where might he go? Who are the teams that might be on his list? I don’t know that, but — based on the whispers I’m hearing — if it comes between those two guys, it’s likely Hjalmarsson.”
