NHL Rumors: Penguins, Flames, Flyers, Golden Knights, Wild, Blue Jackets, Predators and Blackhawks
The Calgary Flames are one team that could be interested in Marc-Andre Fleury

On options for Marc-Andre Fleury

Jason Brough of NBC Sports: Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury will likely be traded this offseason no matter what he does in the playoffs. Matt Murray is their goalie of the future. Fleury has two years left on his deal at a $5.75 million cap hit.

The Calgary Flames could consider Fleury as a stop gap for a couple years as their goalie prospects continue to develop. Pending free agent Ben Bishop could also be an option for them.

The Philadelphia Flyers are another team that could be looking for a goaltender. The Flyers have 23-year old Anthony Stolarz and Michal Neurvirth under contract for next year, but do they want to go into the season with that?

The Dallas Stars could also be in the market for a goaltender.

On teams who could make deals with the Vegas Golden Knights …

Jared Clinton of The Hockey News: Vegas GM George McPhee has already said he’s open to trades from teams that want him to select a certain player or to not select a certain player. Five teams that might approach the Golden Knights with a deal.

Minnesota Wild – Five players who could be left unprotected that might interest the Wild – forwards Jason Zucker and Erik Haula, and defensemen Jonas Brodin, Marco Scandella and Christian Folin. The Wild will lose a good player regardless.

Columbus Blue Jackets – Can they get Scott Hartnell to waive his no-movement clause? Alexander Wennberg or William Karlsson could be forced to be left unprotected. Could make a deal to make sure Matt Calvert is selected.

Nashville Predators – Craig Smith ($4.25 million) and Colin Wilson ($3.94 million) take up a decent chunk of cap space that they could use elsewhere. Could send a pick to Vegas to ensure they take one of them.

Chicago Blackhawks – Need cap space again and could offer something to take Marcus Kruger and his $3.08 million cap hit.

Pittsburgh Penguins – If Marc-Andre Fleury won’t have his no-movement for a trade or expansion, the Penguins would have to do something so Vegas wouldn’t select Matt Murray. The Flames and Stars could use goaltending help.
