NHL Rumors: Kings, Jets, Ducks, Blue Jackets, Penguins and Coyotes
Ondrej Pavelec of the Winnipeg Jets and Anze Kopitar of the LA Kings
On the LA Kings, Winnipeg Jets, Anaheim Ducks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Pittsburgh Penguins and Arizona Coyotes …

Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun: The LA Kings may need to find a goalie to save their season. Jonathan Quick is out, and Jeff Zatkoff is now out with groin injury. Word is that Kings GM Dean Lombardi has been working the phones. They don’t have a lot of options and they don’t have a lot of cap room. It’s believed the Jets are trying to get the Kings to take Ondrej Pavelec, but the Kings don’t like his salary. The Kings may have spoken with the Panthers about Reto Berra who is playing in the AHL and on a one-year, $1.45 million deal.

There may have been a couple short conversations between the Jets and Jacob Trouba agent, but led to believe they may have been for less than a minute. The Bruins and Red Wings have shown interest.

Reports are the Ducks and Hampus Lindholm are $250,000 apart on a six-year deal. Once signed, the Ducks will have decisions to make on their blueline. Teams are calling about Cam Fowler. The Bruins and Red Wings are interested, as well as the Sabres.

Some think John Tortorella could be in trouble in Columbus, but that would be an odd move at this point.

Belief is that Penguins will try to move Marc-Andre Fleury and his $5.75 million contract that runs through 2018-19. Difficulty is finding a team that would take on that contract, and one that he’d be willing to waive his no-movement clause for. If they want to keep both Fleury and Matt Murray, the Penguins could ask Fleury to waive his no-movement clause to be exposed for the expansion draft, but make a side move with Las Vegas to not take him.

The Coyotes could be without Mike Smith long-term. If they look to bring in another other, they could call the Penguins about Mike Condon.
