NHL Rumors: Avs, Bruins, Offer Sheets, Islanders and Oilers
Jacob Trouba against the Colorado Avalanche
On the Colorado Avalanche …

James Mirtle: Sounding like the Avalanche have something brewing.

On the Boston Bruins …

Joe Haggerty: The Bruins are still considering offer sheeting Jacob Trouba, but they may be having second thoughts about doing it according to a source.

If the Bruins did offer sheet Trouba, the one thing they may not have anticipated was the amount of bad blood it could create with all the other GMs. They could live in fear that another teams in the future would try to sign any of their restricted free agents.

On Offer Sheets …

Platinum Seat Ghosts: Pierre LeBrun said that one GM told him that if another team offer sheets one of his players tomorrow, he’d offer sheet one of his players every year for 10 years.

On the New York Islanders …

B.D. Gallof: Hearing that the Islanders offered more for Taylor Hall, but the thought is that the Oilers liked Adam Larsson more.

Arthur Staple of Newsday: Two sources said the Islanders reached out to Steven Stamkos. GM Garth Snow has spoken with other pending free agents.

The Islanders are thought to have made Frans Nielsen a strong offer, but he could get a better offer from the Red Wings or Sabres.

It’s believed that the Oilers offered Taylor Hall for Travis Hamonic, but Islanders made him untouchable are he took back his trade request.

Snow could be looking at the trade market to see if teams are looking move some players due to cap issues. Alex Killorn could intrigue the Islanders.

On the Edmonton Oilers…

David Staples: Hearing that the Oilers aren’t finished yet.

Bob Stauffer: “We would be naive to believe that Peter Chiarelli is finished addressing his D or re-modelling the forward units moving forward. Some moves fans will dislike others they will agree with but my “guess” is the Oilers are far from completing their roster at this time.”
