NHL Rumors I: Letang, E. Kane, Lightning, Gunnarson and Prosser
  • Elizabeth Rancourt of TVA Sports: (s/t – L.A. Lariviere and Google translate) Kris Letang was asked by Penguins GM Jim Rutherford last month to submit a list of 15 teams that he’d accept a trade too. Letang said that the Canadiens were one team on his list.
  • Steve Simmons of the Toronto Sun: Simmons thinks that if anyone was the Jets GM other than the “just-happy-to-be-there” Kevin Cheveldayoff, Evander Kane would have been traded by this point.

Lightning GM Steve Yzerman has been one of the busiest GMs this offseason, and was close on a several big trades that didn’t get done.

The Blues view Carl Gunnarson as a top-four defenseman. They didn’t view Roman Polak as a top-four defenseman.

  • Chad Graff of the Pioneer Press: The Wild and free agent defenseman Nate Prosser are still talking.

“They’re still talking,” Prosser said regarding his agent and the Wild. “We’re waiting to see what (Wild GM) Chuck (Fletcher) has to say.

“It’s a waiting game, and we’re kind of waiting on a few teams to step up.”
