NHL Rumors: Four Buyers, and the Arizona Coyotes
Teams have known for awhile that Anthony Duclair has been available.
On four teams that could be buyers in the next several weeks …

Greg Wyshynski: Looking at four teams that could be buyers in the next several weeks.

Pittsburgh Penguins: The Penguins need to add a center. Riley Sheahan is more effective on the fourth-line. The Penguins don’t have a lot of cap space.

St. Louis Blues: If the Blues are going to trade for someone like Max Pacioretty or Mike Hoffman, they are going to have to move out salary as they don’t have much cap space.

Los Angeles Kings: Have some cap space and prospects to make a move. Will get a boost to their lineup when Jeff Carter returns.

New York Islanders: Have about $2.1 million in salary cap space to work with. They’ve been a playoff bubble team the past couple weeks.

On the Arizona Coyotes …

Chris Nichols of Fan Rag Sports: Elliotte Friedman on Sportsnet 590 noted that teams have known for between six and eight weeks that Coyotes Anthony Duclair is available for trade.

“And I understand that Arizona’s price on him has not been very high. As a matter of fact, it’s really dropped since they first started making him available, and there just hasn’t been a lot of interest.”

Friedman adds that he’s a bit surprised at the lack of interest.

“One team I really thought might look at him is Calgary. Don Maloney was the guy who acquired him as GM of the Coyotes from the Rangers in the Keith Yandle deal. But I’ve heard that Calgary just hasn’t shown a lot of interest.”

Friedman notes the Montreal Canadiens may not be interested as they’ve been focusing on finding a centerman.

Darren Dreger on Thursday on TSN 1200 on Thursday.

“But yesterday I was told it was heating up, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Duclair gets traded – I can’t say in the next couple of days, but I would say that he could be traded within the week.”
