Craig Custance of The Athletic: Looking at the top forwards that could be traded by the deadline, with a few notes on each.

Evander Kane – Eight to 10 are showing interest.

Rick Nash – Not scoring as much and has a big contract. Can play in all situations.

Michael Grabner – The Ducks could be interested, but they may not be sure if they are a playoff team or not.

Patrick Maroon – Maroon and Oilers have talked extension, but it may mean he’d have to leave money on the table.

Mark Letestu – The Penguins have cooled on Letestu according to one source, but there is “serious interest” from other teams according to another source.

Thomas Vanek – Doesn’t always perform well down the stretch.

Tomas Plekanec – Will likely sign an extension with the Canadiens, but will get some trade interest if they don’t reach a deal.

Matt Cullen – If moved would have to think it’s a reunion with the Penguins.
