On the Ottawa Senators …
Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun: Defenseman Erik Karlsson skated with teammates during their morning skate yesterday – the first time with teammates since having foot surgery in June. There is still no timetable for his return, but it’s a step forward.
“(Friday) they the put the skates on to see how it felt very lightly on the ice and they felt he was able to get dressed and be with the boys this morning. Basically, this is the second step, but there’s quite a few steps before we get to him playing so we don’t want him to get too excited.”
Karlson won’t skate today but is expected to be on the ice on Monday.
