NHL Rumors: Blackhawks, Coyotes, and Avalanche
Arizona Coyotes Shane Doan may have five or six teams he'd approve a trade to
On the Chicago Blackhawks …

On the Chris Hine of the Chicago Tribune: (posted before Johnny Oduya trade) GM Stan Bowman said he doesn’t expect to make a big splash at the deadline.

If he does look to trade for a forward, here are a list of potential forwards: Patrick Sharp, Matt Duchene, Gabriel Landeskog, Thomas Vanek, Brian Gionta and Jarome Iginla.

A list of potential defensemen: Johnny Oduya and Dmitry Kulikov.

On the Arizona Coyotes …

The Fourth Period: The Arizona Coyotes have been getting calls from some top team that have some level of interest in Shane Doan.

Two sources close to the Coyotes said that Doan would waive his no-movement clause for five or six teams, with two teams at the top of his list. Those teams are not known.

This season, Doan has been linked to San Jose Sharks, Pittsburgh Penguins, Montreal Canadiens, Washington Capitals and Los Angeles Kings.

Dennis Bernstein: Don’t think that the Kings are on Doan’s list.

On the Colorado Avalanche …

Chris Nichols of FanRag Sports: Bob McKenzie on TSN 1040 on the Colorado Avalanche, Matt Duchene and Gabriel Landeskog and what they may do with them.

“The Avalanche are not in a position where it’s a fire sale,” he said. “There’s no pressure on them. They’re finishing in last place. Whether they win the lottery or not remains to be seen, but they’re going to finish in last place this year. No doubt about that. They’ll finish in last place with Matt Duchene, they’ll finish in last place without him. So the impetus for doing the deal just doesn’t make sense (unless) they’re getting their price met. And if they don’t get their price met at the deadline, then they’ll just move this back and do it prior to the expansion draft or the entry draft when maybe more teams might be interested because there’ll be some disappointed teams that want to rejig their roster afterwards and somebody like Duchene – or Landeskog, for that matter – might be a noteworthy player you could pick up in the summer.”
