NHL Rumors: Bruins, Wild, Maple Leafs, Canadiens and Oilers
Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price
On the Boston Bruins and Minnesota Wild …

Jimmy Murphy: There had been a rumor that the Boston Bruins and Minnesota Wild were discussing a deal, but multiple sources have said that it is not true. The Bruins and Wild have talked in the past six months, but there is nothing close to being done.

On the Toronto Maple Leafs …

Michael Augello: “Based on the need throughout the league for scoring wingers and centers, dealing JVR or Bozak is not out of the question, if they are part of a package to bring in a top four D. The have significant depth up front that would allow them to deal their pending UFA’s”

On the Montreal Canadiens …

Stu Cowan of the Montreal Gazette: Carey Price‘s “minor” lower-body injury has kept him out of the lineup for over two weeks. Price said it doesn’t have to do with his right knee, and the Canadiens haven’t said what the injury is.

wonders if it’s something else, like could the Canadiens be looking to trade Price before his eight-year, $84 million deal kicks in next year?

With teams not admitting what injuries are, it can lead to other speculation.

TSN’s Craig Button noted that the Canadiens are “poorly constructed.” Button points out that though Jonathan Drouin is trying hard, he’s not a center. He won only seven of 21 faceoffs against the Maple Leafs on Saturday. The Canadiens are using fifth and sixth defensemen as third and fourths. Button continued by saying they are too small at forward and too slow on defense.

wonders what the Canadiens could actually get for Price is they decided to trade him.

The Edmonton Oilers are one team that might be interested in Carey Price. They have Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Leon Draisaitl at center, and they could use some help in goal.
