Boston Bruins GM said he not trading David Pastrnak
On the Boston Bruins and David Pastrnak …

Kevin Paul Dupont of the Boston Globe: Boston Bruins GM Don Sweeney shot down David Pastrnak trade rumors that surfaced this week.

“Not trading Pastrnak,” was Sweeney’s terse comment in an e-mail to a Globe reporter Monday night.

As training camp approaches and as long as Pastrnak remains unsigned, rumors will swirl.

“We will continue to negotiate — we still have lots of time,” noted J.P. Barry, Pastrnak’s agent, responding by e-mail to a Globe reporter’s request for comment Tuesday morning. “David prefers to sign a longer-term deal with the Bruins.

“The negotiations between myself and Don have been very open and both sides understand each other’s positions. Hopefully we can agree on an overall structure that is amenable to both sides in the next month.”

Joe Haggerty: “The inimitable Felger & Mazz stirring pot for Noah Hanifin/Pastrnak trade scenario. No way, hombres. Hanifin wasnt even top-4 in CAR last yr”

On College free agents …

Ryan Wagman: College free agents that should gain some NHL interest include: Alex Kerfoot, Dominic Toninato, Grant Besse, Blaine Byron, Cliff Watson

On Alex Kerfoot …

Andrew Gross of NJ.com: New Jersey Devils GM Ray Shero has said several times that the Devils wanted to sign 2012 5th round pick Alex Kerfoot. Shero added that the closer it got to yesterday’s deadline, the more clear it became to them that Kerfoot would test free agency.

Shero added that if Kerfoot were to become a free agent – which he did – it would be unlikely that they’d sign him.

Rick Dhaliwal: J.P. Barry, the agent for Kerfoot, said that he is expecting several teams to call, with the Vancouver Canucks likely to be one of the teams.
