NHL Rumors: Tkachuk, Coyotes, Bruins, Hurricanes, Penguins and Canucks
Patrick Marleau's play has been an issue but now his contract will become one.
On Brady Tkachuk …

Craig Morgan of Arizona Sports: There were multiple reports earlier this week that 2018 draft prospect Brady Tkachuk would return to Boston University for his sophomore season. Keith Tkachuk, Brady’s dad said yesterday that those reports may be premature.

“I wouldn’t say a decision has been made yet either way,” Keith Tkachuk said. “We just haven’t really discussed it yet. We will wait until after the draft before a decision is made.”

On the Arizona Coyotes …

Craig Morgan of Arizona Sports: The Coyotes are interested in 24-year old defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin according to a source. The reports that they are close to a deal are premature though.

The right-handed defensive defenseman is still under contract with Lokomotiv of the KHL.

Currently, Jason Demers is in the only signed right-handed defenseman on the Coyotes roster.

On the Boston Bruins …

Joe McDonald: Pending free agent goaltender Anton Khudobin said he’d like to remain with the Bruins and not have to deal with free agency. He said he thinks he could play another eight years.

On the Carolina Hurricanes …

Amar Basi: Pierre McGuire on the Hurricanes: “I can tell you right now, based on phone calls I’ve been getting, there’s going to be players traded out of there. Going to be real interesting to see how things play out.”

On the Pittsburgh Penguins …

Amar Basi: Pierre McGuire on the Penguins: “They need help on defence, Chad Ruhwedel is a good depth D but I think they need a little more, but I think they need a little rest more so, they’ll be fine.”

On the Vancouver Canucks …

Rick Dhaliwal: Defenseman Chris Tanev on the trade rumors to Toronto: “My friends don’t talk about it but you hear it once in a while and it’s just part of the game.”

Rick Dhaliwal: Tanev on trade rumors: “I am happy in Vancouver, love the city and the guys. Rumours are out of my control.”
