NHL Rumors: Bruins, Rangers, Oilers, and Wild
The Boston Bruins and New York Rangers could be talking about Ryan McDonagh
On the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers …

Jimmy Murphy: A source is saying that the Bruins are willing to listen on defenseman Brandon Carlo as part of trade talks involving Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh. There have been lots of ideas being tossed around but there hasn’t been any substantial as of yet.

Jimmy Murphy: Hearing the asking price for McDonagh from the Rangers could be Brandon Carlo or an equal roster player, a top prospect that could be NHL ready, a first-round pick and possibly another draft pick.

On the Boston Bruins and Edmonton Oilers …

Jimmy Murphy: A source is saying that the Bruins and Oilers have spoken about defenseman Torey Krug but the Bruins are not interested in trading him right now. Two sources have said Oilers defenseman Oscar Klefbom has been mentioned in these trade talks, and with other teams.

Jimmy Murphy: Not saying that the Bruins are shopping Krug, or that they are looking to move him. Just saying that his name has come up in some talks, and the Bruins have said no.

On the Minnesota Wild …

Sarah McLellan of the Star Tribune: The Wild have dealt with injuries this season, only fully healthy for five games. The Wild will take a wait and see approach leading up to the deadline.

Their forwards are now intact. On the blue line, Jonas Brodin is out a month with a fractured hand.

Brodin’s injury is allowing the Wild to evaluate both Gustav Olofsson and Mike Reilly – both have been used as their sixth defenseman throughout the season.

“If a need emerges or if there’s some obvious hole that we need to fill, then we’ll have to talk about that,” Fletcher said. “But my mind-set is we have a lot of the answers here internally.”

The Wild don’t have a lot of salary cap space.

“We don’t feel any urgency to do anything,” Fletcher said. “But we’re certainly open-minded. We’re excited to see some of the guys we have here perform.”
