NHL Rumors: Bruins, Flames, Canucks and College Free Agents
Boston Bruins David Pastrnak scoring the Vancouver Canucks
On the Boston Bruins …

DJ Bean of CSNNE: Both the Bruins and David Pastrnak‘s camp are interested in doing a long-term contract. Good news for the Bruins is that Pastrnak won’t be asking for a Vladimir Tarasenko comparable – eight years at a $7.5 million salary cap hit.

Comparables they will likely use for Pastrnak.

Filip Forsberg: Six years, $36 million – $6 million cap hit.
Sean Monahan:  Seven years, $44.625 million – $6.35 million cap hit.
Mark Scheifele: Eight years, $49 million – $6.12 million cap hit.

On the Calgary Flames …

Eric Francis of the Calgary Sun: Flames goaltender Brian Elliott didn’t have a good start to the season, but he’s been on fire of late. It’s now probable that the Flames will re-sign Elliott to a long-term deal.

On the Vancouver Canucks …

TSN Radio Vancouver: GM Jim Benning on this year’s draft: “If there’s a true pp defenseman or a top-two playmaking centreman because we have some wingers coming”

TSN Radio Vancouver: Benning on prospect Brock Boeser: “When his season is finished, we’ll discuss where they’re at. We’d like to sign him but it’s gotta be a two-way street.”

TSN Radio Vancovuer: Bob McKenzie on the Canucks being able to sign Boeser: “I wouldn’t think it would be an issue.”

TSN Radio Vancouver: McKenzie repeats that if North Dakota doesn’t make it to Frozen Four, Brock Boeser will likely sign with the Canucks.

On College free agents …

John Buccigross: College free agent Kiefer Sherwood had interest from the Vegas Golden Knights, Anaheim Ducks, Calgary Flames and Washington Capitals, but he’ll be returning to Miami University.

Jon Rosen: The Los Angeles Kings kicking tires on college free agent John Stevens (associate coach John Stevens’ son). He’s spent the past four years at Northeastern.

Jon Rosen: The Kings could sign Stevens outright or to a amateur tryout for their AHL team. Should have a better idea this weekend. The Kings are not the only team interested in Stevens.
