NHL Rumors: Blue Jackets, Blackhawks, and Canadiens
Bob McKenzie thinks Montreal Canadiens winger Max Pacioretty will remain past the deadline
On the Columbus Blue Jackets and Chicago Blackhawks …

Mark Lazerus: Source saying that the Blue Jackets contacted the Blackhawks about center Artem Anisimov and offered them a third-round pick and wanted the Blackhawks to retain half of Anisimov’s salary. Talks went nowhere. The Blackhawks did approach Anisimov about the waiving his no-movement clause.

On the Columbus Blue Jackets …

Aaron Portzline: GM Jarmo Kekalainen is still looking for help up front even after acquiring Mark Letestu yesterday.

Elliotte Friedman: The Blue Jackets checked in with the St. Louis Blues on Patrik Berglund and Vladimir Sobotka.

Aaron Portzline: Have been told that the Blue Jackets are not in on Sabres forward Evander Kane.

On the Chicago Blackhawks …

Scott Powers: According to a source, the Blackhawks are asking for a first-round pick plus something else for Ryan Hartman.

On the Montreal Canadiens …

Stu Cowan of the Montreal Gazette: Bob McKenzie on TSN 690 said that he believes that Max Pacioretty will remain with the Canadiens past the trade deadline.

“At this point, unless things change substantially, I’d be really surprised Max Pacioretty moves today,” McKenzie said during an interview early Monday morning on TSN Radio 690.

“Is it possible? Absolutely,” McKenzie added. “Anything’s possible today. One phone call and boom! Landscape completely shifts. But as of this moment, I don’t believe that there’s anything on the table for the Montreal Canadiens that would even be remotely a consideration for them. But as I said, one phone call and maybe that changes.”

GM Marc Bergevin needs to make a move, but he’s got to get a good return.

“I don’t think Shaw’s going anywhere,” McKenzie said. “Galchenyuk’s been eminently tradeable for a long time now and he hasn’t been. That tells you a couple of things: either there hasn’t been the demand for him or whatever is being offered isn’t to the liking of Marc Bergevin and the Montreal Canadiens.”
