NHL Rumors: Arizona Coyotes, St. Louis Blues and the New York Islanders
At least two or three teams are interested in Shane Doan
On the Arizona Coyotes …

L.A. Lariviere: Coyotes unrestricted free agent Shane Doan is getting interest from at least two or three teams. It’s still early. He wants a shot at the Cup.

Elliotte Friedman: Todd Nelson (Grand Rapids – AHL Champion) is one name to watch for the Coyotes coaching vacancy.

John Shannon: Hearing that Dave Tippett will get a $3 million buy out from the Coyotes.

On the St. Louis Blues …

Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post Dispatch: The Blues have two first round picks – No. 20 and No. 27 – and they could be open to packaging them together and moving up in the draft.

“It’s not just the standard one pick, we’ve got two, so you’ve got to explore all of your options and try to get the best value and the best player you can with what you have,” Bill Armstrong said. “It gives you some different options, and there’s more things on the board that you can accomplish. You’ve got to be diligent and prepared to know all your options.”

On the New York Islanders …

Andy Graziano: Have been told (after Eberle trade) that the Islanders were still in on Matt Duchene. It’s not an easy deal to make but trade talks continue.

Brian Compton: Don’t think the Islanders could land Matt Duchene without having Matthew Barzal in the package.

Arthur Staple of Newsday: The Islanders still have some assets to move for some more help up front. They could move a defenseman, but they don’t appear to want to move prospect Matthew Barzal, which may kill any Matt Duchene deal. Barzal could be their answer for a top-nine center next year.

Defnesemen Travis Hamonic and Calvin de Haan are getting lots of interest. There was lots of talk yesterday that Hamonic could be dealt for a young forward and a draft pick.
