NHL Rumors: Coyotes, Bruins and Canadiens
The Boston Bruins would have to sweeten the pot to get someone to take Matt Beleskey
On the Arizona Coyotes …

Craig Morgan: Can’t see the Coyotes wanting to carry three goaltenders when Antti Raanta is ready to return from his injury. The most logical move would be to waive Louis Domingue now that they acquired Scott Wedgewood.

On the Boston Bruins …

Fluto Shinzawa of the Boston Globe: Forward Matt Beleskey has been a healthy scratch already this season. He’s averaging just under 11 minutes a game when he does play. Frank Vatrano is another Bruins forward who has struggled.

Moving Vatrano would be easier than Beleskey. Beleskey carries a $3.8 million salary cap hit for two more years.

No team would take Beleskey without the Bruins adding an early pick or prospect, or the Bruins taking back a bad contract.

If the Bruins were to put Beleskey on waivers, he would clear, and the Bruins would carry a $2.775 million cap hit in the AHL.

On the Montreal Canadiens …

Chris Nichols of FanRag Sports: Elliotte Friedman was on Sportsnet 960 talking about the Montreal Canadiens. Friedman doesn’t think ownership wants to fire GM Marc Bergevin.

“And I think that what it’s done is Montreal knows it’s dealing from a position of weakness because Galchenyuk’s play was already bad. And when Bergevin comes out this week and says, ‘We’re going to stick with him,’ it’s because he knows if you trade him now, you’re trading him at 10 cents on the dollar. So you have to hope that he sorts everything out on the ice and off it, most importantly for the quality of his own life. But what it shows you is it’s very hard to make a trade with that player now because not only are you trading a player who is struggling on the ice, you’re trading a player who potentially has some things he has to deal with off it too.”
