NHL Rumors: Coyotes, Flames, Senators, Stars, and Red Wings
The Coyotes offered Anthony Duclair to the Calgary Flames in a deal for Dougie Hamilton back at the draft
On the Arizona Coyotes, Calgary Flames, Ottawa Senators, Dallas Stars, LA Kings and Vancouver Canucks …

TSN Insider Trading: Darren Dreger: At around the draft last year, the Arizona Coyotes offered Anthony Duclair and a draft pick to the Calgary Flames for Dougie Hamilton. The Coyotes and Flames went back and forth over the summer, but nothing obviously came of it.

Pierre LeBrun: Duclair’s name is out there, but the Ottawa Senators are not believed to be interested. The Senators are looking at the trade market for a forward for their third or fourth line. They’ve had trouble scoring this year. They don’t have anything imminent.

Pierre LeBrun: The Dallas Stars may have to make a move when everyone is healthy, especially on the blueline. They could move a defenseman for a depth forward. Johnny Oduya is a pending UFA and could be moved, depending on what they are offered.

The NHL has talked to the LA Kings and Vancouver Canucks about potentially playing an exhibition game in Beijing or Shanghai.

On the Detroit Red Wings …

Dan Rosen of NHL.com: (mailbag) Asked when will the Detroit Red Wings will go full rebuild and commit to youth and sell some vets. They won’t get much for players like Steve Ott, Thomas Vanek, Drew Miller and Jonathan Ericsson. Defenseman Mike Green carries a $6 million cap hit and would be hard to trade. May not be easy to move the 32-year old Jimmy Howard with two years left on his deal.

They shouldn’t move guys like Gustav Nyquist, Tomas Tatar, Justin Abdelkader, Dylan Larkin, Riley Sheahan, Danny DeKeyser and Alexey Marchenko.

When a team is looking to rebuild, they move players who bring back significant value in draft picks and prospects. The Red Wings may not have enough of those type of players.

The Red Wings are also moving into a new arena next season.
