Pavel Datsyuk

On Alexander Radulov …

Igor Eronko: Have been told that Alexander Radulov’s NHL priorities are: “1. winning, he wants to play for a contender; 2. family comfort; money is not a big factor”

Igor Eronko: Radulov didn’t report to the Russian National team camp and management didn’t comment on it.

Aivis Kalnins: Hearing that Radulov won’t be playing in the World Championship and that he is going to be returning to the NHL.

Elliotte Friedman: “1) As @IgorEronko reported this morning, Alexander Radulov did not join Russia’s team for the opening of its Worlds camp. He is expected … 2) to join them later in the week. Radulov is apparently in New York, considering his NHL future. COL is considered a favourite … 3) but there are others sniffing around. Word is he also is interested in the likes of DET, FLA & WASH. Hard to glean their interest … 4) in his services, or what kind of contract we’re talking about.”

Stephen Whyno: Barry Trotz coached Radulov in Nashville, but we all remember how that ended for Radulov and Trotz.

Slava Malamud: Skeptical about Radulov to the Capitals, but he does want to go there. The Avalanche are still the favorites.

Slava Malamud: The Russian Hockey Federation is furious that Radulov went to New York to arrange for an NHL contract and not attending their national team camp.

Slava Malamud: As Malamud sees it, basically everyone has some issues with Radulov, but everyone may still welcome him, including the Avalanche, Trotz and Russia.

Slava Malamud: Radulov to the Capitals would largely depend on what the Capitals owner, GM, coach and Alex Ovechkin think about the possibility.

On Pavel Datsyuk …

Ansar Khan: Pavel Datsyuk said that he would decide on his future after the World Championships. They end on May 22nd.

Helene St. James: After listening to Henrik Zetterberg talk, getting the impression that Datsyuk will be leaving the Red Wings and returning to Russian for next year. Nothing official.

Ansar Khan: Zetterberg has spoken with Datsyuk and has a good idea of what he will do.

Brad Galli: GM Ken Holland believes Datsyuk will leave, noting that Datsyuk has been taking pictures with teammates lately.

Darren Dreger: The Red Wings badly want Datsyuk to remain with them next season. Their plan is to revisit the idea with him early in June.

Brendan Savage: Notes that hours after most people had left the Joe Louis Arena yesterday, Pavel Datsyuk was still signing memorabilia.
