The Washington Capitals moved up one spot to No. 4 this week. The Columbus Blue Jackets make a big move from No. 14 last week to No. 5 this week.

Looking at the bottom end of the rankings, the Arizona Coyotes are back at No. 30 after half of the media outlets ranking then last.

The New York Islanders received two last place votes and find themselves at No. 29.

The Vancouver Canucks hold steady at No. 28. The Calgary Flames moved out of the basement and are No. 27 this week.

The Detroit Red Wings drop from No. 19 to No. 26 and round out the bottom five.

Since we only had six entries in this weeks NHL power rankings, we didn’t drop the highest and lowest totals for each team.

To get our consensus NHL Power Rankings Week 6 point total, we awarded the top team 30 points, the second team 29 points, third team 28 points, etc.

** Keep in mind the dates the rankings were posted, and in some cases, they may have been submitted to their editors the day before it was posted. Different outlets use different factors in determining their rankings. **
