On the Carolina Hurricanes …

Sami Hoffren: Hurricanes prospect Aleksi Saarela will likely miss most of training camp with an injury.

On Rickard Rakell and Marcus Kruger …

Joe McDonald of ESPN: Team Sweden and Anaheim Ducks forward Rickard Rakal is in a Swedish hospital with an unspecified illness.

He as a late scratch on Saturday and didn’t travel with the team yesterday.

Sweden has until September 16th to add another player if Rakell is not able to play.

“We’ve got to be in contact with him and then we’ll see where we’re at, and hopefully for his own sake we know what it is because right now we don’t.”

Marcus Kruger has been dealing with an upper-body injury, but was able to practice with the team yesterday and hopes to be ready for Wednesday’s exhibition game.
