On the Boston Bruins …

Joe Haggerty of NBC Sports Boston: Already without Charlie McAvoy and Patrice Bergeron, the Bruins lost Jake DeBrusk, Torey Krug, and Zdeno Chara in the third period last night.

Coach Bruce Cassidy didn’t have an update after the game.

It appeared that DeBrusk, Krug, and Chara had x-rays after the game.

Joe Haggerty: The Bruins have signed Trent Frederic to an entry-level contract and he’ll report to their AHL team in Providence.

On the Columbus Blue Jackets …

Aaron Portzline: Have been told that defenseman Seth Jones‘ upper-body is okay enough for him to play on Thursday. He left Monday’s game after the second period.

On the Montreal Canadiens …

Montreal Canadiens: Defenseman Shea Weber underwent surgery yesterday to repair tendons in his left foot. He’ll be out for six months.

John Lu: Coach Claude Julien said that goaltender Carey Price will skate again today. He’s been on the ice for three straight days. His concussion recovery is heading in the right direction.

Eric Engels: Coach Julien said that Andrew Shaw hadn’t been taken to a hospital and that he’s under evaluation. Can’t say for sure that he has a concussion.

John Lu: Stars defenseman Greg Pateryn on Canadiens Andrew Shaw: “I thought he took a run at me… it seemed like his head hit mine and there’s a reasons why a guy like that gets 4-5 concussions a year and I think his play speaks for (himself).”

John Lu: Pateryn continued: “He was knocked out as soon as he hit me; he knocked himself out when he hit me. I didn’t realize he was knocked out until he was on the ice and his eyes were in the back of his head. You play like that, that’s what happens sometimes.”

Eric Engels: Coach Julien on Pateryn’s comments: “Comments like that don’t deserve a response. They speak for themselves.”

On the New York Rangers …

New York Rangers: Coach Alain Vigneault said that defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk had a minor setback which is holding him off the ice for a few days. Anthony DeAngelo had an MRI yesterday.

On the Ottawa Senators …

Don Brennan: Coach Guy Boucher said that forward Mark Stone will be out week-to-week with a leg injury. Boucher added that it isn’t as bad as they had first thought.

On the Philadelphia Flyers …

Philadelphia Flyers: The Flyers signed 2017 fourth round pick Maksim Sushko to an entry-level deal.

On the Pittsburgh Penguins …

Josh Yohe: Forward Bryan Rust could be able to return today. It hasn’t determined yet if he will be in the lineup.
