On the Detroit Red Wings …

Ansar Khan: The Red Wings are waiting for the results from an MRI for Tyler Bertuzzi (mid-body). Justin Abdelkader is day-to-day with a groin injury.

On the Minnesota Wild …

Dane Mizutani of the Pioneer Press: Zach Parise had missed the first week of training camp, but joined teammates on the ice yesterday.

“It’s different than skating on my own and doing scripted drills and knowing where I’m going and what direction I’m going,” he added. “When I got out there today, it was 10 guys in the neutral zone and it was a little chaotic. You’ve got to react. That was a good step for me to be able to do that. Hopefully it keeps getting better and better.”

On the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Chicago Blackhawks …

James Mirtle of The Athletic: The NHL is going to investigate the Maple Leafs for their handling of ‘injured’ Joffrey Lupul – are they trying to circumvent the roster limit or salary cap? Other teams weren’t complaining about their Maple Leafs. The NHL is acting on Lupul’s comments on Instagram.

A lot of teams have complained about the Blackhawks and Marian Hossa ‘injury.’

The NHL is expected to have their investigation done by the start of the season.
