Adam Vingan of The Tennessean: The Nashville Predators and Viktor Arvidsson agreed on a seven-year contract worth $29.75 million – a $4.25 million salary cap hit.

The Predators and Arvidsson had an arbitration yesterday before agreeing on the next deal.

Arvidsson increased his point total by 45 last year with career highs in goals (31) and points (61).

Austin Watson has an arbitration hearing scheduled for Monday. Elliotte Friedman reported that Watson has asked for $1.4 million, with the Predators offering $700,000.

On the Arizona Coyotes …

Craig Morgan: The Coyotes signed restricted free agent forward Tyler Gaudet to a one-year, two-way deal with a NHL cap hit of $650,000 and $85,000 in the AHL. He has a guarantee of $110,000.

Craig Morgan: The Coyotes and Jordan Martinook agreed on a two-year contract worth $3.6 million. He’ll get $1.75 million this season and $1.85 million in 2018-19.

Craig Morgan: Martinook’s agent Jeff Helperl after the two-year deal was signed.

“Arbitration is a hard thing for a player to go through. You have to sit there and listen to teams tell you how much they think you’re worth and sometimes it doesn’t come out the right way. You shake hands at the end of the day, but there are some hard things to hear so to not have the player go through that and get the number we wanted makes everyone happy.”

On the Pittsburgh Penguins …

Elliotte Friedman: For salary arbitration the Penguins offered $1.95 million for Brian Dumoulin, with Dumoulin asking for $4.35 million.
