Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press: Both Justin Abdelkader and Darren Helm will be out of the lineup through Tuesday. Luke Glendening is out until after the All-Star break.

On the New Jersey Devils …

Andrew Gross: Goaltender Cory Schneider won’t travel with the team, and Ken Appleby is expected to backup Keith Kinkaid.

On the New York Islanders …

New York Islanders: Coach Doug Weight: “Ladd & Prince will not make the trip so we’ll bring Z (Cizikas) & Johnny (Boychuk), but I don’t think they’ll be threatening to play the first game or two. Ross is a big aggressive forward which is something we’re lacking right now, so we’ll see if he’ll be in or not.”

On the New York Rangers …

Dan Rosen of NHL.com: Defenseman  Kevin Shattenkirk will have surgery on Monday to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee and will be out indefinitely.

“It’s come to a point now where looking at all the options, trying to stick it out or make it through the season with the way it’s kind of been going, I think it’s the right time to get surgery,” Shattenkirk said. “Handle it and take care of it before it becomes something we don’t want to do down the line later in the season that would put me out during a crucial part of the season.”

Shattenkirk said that he wouldn’t be out for the entire season.

Larry Brooks: Defenseman Marc Staal and forward Kevin Hayes are out today, and are 50-50 for Sunday’s game.

On the Ottawa Senators …

Brent Wallace: Defenseman Erik Karlsson is sick but is expected to play against the Maple Leafs. Nate Thompson and Jean-Gabriel Pageau are out.
