Western Conference News: Ducks, Stars, Oilers, Panthers, Kings and Golden Knights
Ryan Kesler and Oscar Klefbom
On the Anaheim Ducks …

Eric Stephens: Coach Randy Carlyle said that forward Ryan Kesler skated yesterday and has been skating every other day. Kesler has some good days but is still having some issues. Carlyle:  “We’re going to try to be as prudent as we possibly can … He’s going to play when he’s ready.” notes that it sounds like maybe the start of 2018.

On the Dallas Stars …

Mark Stepneski: Coach Ken Hitchcock said that defenseman Marc Methot could be ready to return for their game against the Predators on Saturday.

On the Edmonton Oilers …

Edmonton Oilers: The Oilers recalled forward Anton Slepyshev from the AHL. Defenseman Oscar Klefbom was put on the IR. Forward Nathan Walker was put on waivers.

Edmonton Oilers: Coach Todd McLellan said that Klefbom has been sore and playing hurt for awhile. Adam Larsson just returned and Andrej Sekera is real close to returning. Klefbom will now get “the time he needs to heal throughout the Christmas break” according to McLellan.

On the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers …

Jason Gregor: The Oilers trade forward Greg Chase to the Florida Panthers for future considerations. The move frees up another contract space. If Nathan Walker gets claimed off waivers, that would put the Oilers at 47 contracts.

On the Los Angeles Kings …

Jon Rosen: Defenseman Christian Folin was placed on the IR with an upper-body injury.

On the Vegas Golden Knights …

Steve Carp: Defenseman Luca Sbisa (IR) practiced yesterday. William Carrier is getting closer to being able to return to the lineup. Forward Reid Duke skated after the Knights morning skate.
