On the GM of the Year …

Steve Carp: Finalists for GM of the Year: George McPhee (Vegas), Kevin Cheveldayoff (Winnipeg) and Steve Yzerman (Tampa Bay).

On Quebec City expansion/relocation …

Jimmy Murphy: Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs doesn’t believe that Quebec City would get an NHL team anytime soon because of the market – income, TV. Houston could be next in line after Seattle.

Jonathan Willis: Not something Quebec wants to hear after building a $370 million arena.

On the Edmonton Oilers …

Ryan Rishaug: Sounding like the Oilers have signed 24-year old Swedish defenseman Joel Perrson.

Jonathan Willis: “Saw Persson in the SHL final this year. Solid in the games I watched; he was playing 2nd pair with former Canucks’ prospect Daniel Rahimi. He should challenge for NHL work; in terms of expectations I’d think something in the Philip Larsen range, but maybe he surprises.”

Jonathan Willis: “All of these guys are found money, and it’s always good to see an NHL team picking up one or two in the offseason. At worst he gives EDM some depth, and maybe he does more than that as an offensive specialist.”

On the Minnesota Wild …

Minnesota Wild: The Wild have signed goaltender Kaapo Kahkonen to a two-year entry-level deal.

On the Philadelphia Flyers …

Sam Carchidi: Defenseman Samuel Morin requires knee surgery and his AHL season is over.

On the Vegas Golden Knights …

Pierre LeBrun: Coach Gerard Gallant and forward James Neal confirmed that Neal went through concussion protocol during the first period. He was cleared and returned to the game.

Steve Carp: Goaltender Malcolm Subban is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury/illness.

Jesse Granger: Forward David Perron was not able to last night in Game 3.
