Brent Wallace: Forward Bobby Ryan won’t travel with the team to Toronto. He has a right-hand injury. Coach Guy Boucher when asked if it’s long-term: “can’t tell you that right now.”

Bruce Garrioch: It is expected that Mark Borowiecki won’t return to the lineup until their bye week is over. This could change if they suffer some injuries.

Bruce Garrioch: The Senators AHL team signed Chris Kelly to another PTO.

On the Nashville Predators …

Adam Vingan of The Tennessean: The Predators re-signed three depth defensemen yesterday: Yannick Weber and Matt Irwin signed two-year deals at $1.35 million ($650,000 next year and $700,000 in 2019-20, and Anthony Bitetto signed a one-year contract at $650,000. Each would have been an unrestricted free agent after the season.

Adam Vingan: After yesterday’s signings, the Predators have only three pending UFAs – Alexei Emelin, Scott Hartnell, and Cody McLeod – and two pending RFAs – Miikka Salomaki and Juuse Saros.

Pierre LeBrun: The Predators plan to speak with pending UFA Alexei Emelin’s camp after the season.

On the New York Rangers …

New York Rangers: Forward Chris Kreider had successful rib resection surgery on Sunday. He’s out indefinitely and will be reevaluated in six weeks.
