Aaron Portzline of The Athletic: The Blue Jackets have signed winger Cam Atkinson to a seven-year, $41.125 million contract extension – a $5.875 million salary cap hit.

The first two years of the deal carry a no-trade and no-movement. Atkinson has a limited no-trade final five years of the contract. He submits a list of 10-teams he’d okay a trade too.

The sides also added a no-trade and no-movement clause to the final year of his current contract, so the Blue Jackets can’t trade him before July 1st when his new deal starts.

On the Tampa Bay Lightning …

Radko Gudas will be getting a call from the NHL for his slash last night.

Scott Billeck: Matthieu Perreault said that Gudas’ slash caught him in the “good” part of his neck, so it didn’t end up hurting that much.
