David Backes required about 18 stitches to close up a large cut

Boston Bruins: Forward David Backes left last night’s game after suffering a laceration above his right knee.

Kevin Paul Dupont: Coach Bruce Cassidy said that Backes didn’t have any “structural damage” and required about 18 stitches to close up the cut. There is no timeline on how long it will take to heal.
