Joe Haggerty: Forward David Krejci is ruled out for today’s game. His back issue “hasn’t improved to the point where he can skate.”

Joe Haggerty of NBC Sports Boston: Forward Brad Marchand missed practice with a minor lower-body issue. He is expected to be able to play today.

On the Chicago Blackhawks …

Tracey Myers: Coach Joel Quenneville said that Gustav Forsling (upper-body) isn’t with the team in Minnesota, but there is a chance that he plays on Sunday.

On the Columbus Blue Jackets …

Brian Hedger: Coach John Tortorella said that forward Cam Atkinson wouldn’t join the team on their road trip. They will see if he’s ready to go when they play their next game at home on Tuesday.

On the Edmonton Oilers …

Chris Wescott: Defenseman Andrej Sekera was back on the ice with teammates yesterday for the first time since he tore his ACL in the second round of last year’s Stanley Cup Playoffs.

“It feels good to be out there with the guys and getting used to the rhythm again, passing, shooting wise,” said Sekera. “It’s better with someone on the ice other than just the trainers.”

He had been skating on his own and with trainers leading up to Friday. It will be at least a couple more weeks before he’ll be cleared for contact.
